Standing With Cindy--August 19 2005

Yesterday, the anti-war/anti-imperialist community stood with Cindy Sheehan, the woman who lost her son in Bush's war.

Here are a few dispatches from places of interest to me

Paying The Price
Yours Truly:)

What are
the wages of fear.

Can you put
a price on lies.

Who covers
the cost of empire.

It's paid
in the blood
of fathers and mothers,
sisters and brothers,
son's and daughters.

And each day
more and more
look at the bill,
and ask.

"How much more"

Red Candles For Cindy
Steeleyes

Out in the darkness
there is a light
Red candles for Cindy
in the dark Crawford night

So many mothers
now grieve for their boys
as the chaos grows daily
and sore grief deploys

They gather round Cindy
a mother in pain
Determined such a war
never happens again

Bring home the troops
Bring the mothers their sons
All the daughters too
and lay down their guns

Out in the darkness
there is a light
Red candles for Cindy
in the dark Crawford night
